Thor: The Sweetest Soul Who Brought Light Into the World

On September 6, 2025, Thor, a big-hearted large breed mix born in 2016, crossed the Rainbow Bridge. To his family, especially Lisa Peterson. He wasn’t just a dog. Thor was a best friend, a soul teacher, and a living reminder of unconditional love.

Thor’s life was full of quirks that made everyone smile. He was famously nosy, always sticking his head into whatever his humans were doing, and he loved to poke just his head out the doggie door to check that everything was okay before coming back inside. Every night, he made his rounds around the backyard before bed, a gentle guardian watching over his world. He’d curl up under the couch at Lisa’s feet, making sure her toes rested on him, and if she was asleep when he wanted affection, he’d lay his head next to hers and touch noses to wake her up. Thor was a goofball who always wanted to play, to be chased around the yard, and to make life joyful.

His favorite spot was his kennel. Not as a cage, but as a safe haven where the door was always open. When thunder rolled in, that’s where he’d retreat to feel calm. At night, he slept loyally on Lisa’s side of the bed on his own bed, always near her. He loved being outside when it wasn’t too hot, playing in the rain and snow, and nothing made him happier than camping trips. Down at the river, Thor would wade in and simply lay in the water, watching the world go by with his family nearby.

Thor adored his squeaky hedgehog and chew toy alligator, beef knuckle bones, banana-and-yogurt biscuits, and chicken. But more than anything, he loved being there.His essence was joy, loyalty, and light, a giant teddy bear of a dog who brought comfort just by being himself.

Thor came into Lisa’s life during a hard time. He helped her through it by bringing back joy and love, showing her that she was loved, and teaching her the beauty of little things. He was her protector, her confidant, her playful teacher. Through him, Lisa learned the meaning of unconditional love and the importance of being true to herself.

Even now, Thor’s spirit lingers. Lisa still senses his presence in hard moments, his reassurance that she’s safe, his message that it’s okay to let go and be playful, to enjoy life fully just like he did. Thor’s legacy is loyal, sweet, and light-filled, a soul dog who will never be forgotten.
